In Tolerance employs three CMM's (Coordinate Measuring Machines). A "CMM" is a highly accurate method to measure features on parts in 3-dimensions. This equipment is both manual and highly automatic (depending on the application and requirements). The technology utilizes glass scales along with a multi-head stylus which is touched against the part one is measuring the scales which uses laser interferometer that can measure parts within +/- 0.0002 inch (or one 15th the width of a human hair). In Tolerance has created a special process where the actual measurements are automatically transferred to our ISO-9001/2000 "first article inspection report" for permanent archive and retrieval for our customers.
